Minister Francesco Profumo visits IOI2012

The Minister of Education, University and Reseach, Mr. Francesco Profumo, came to Montichiari this afternoon to welcome all the contestants of the IOI2012. IOI is one of the most prestigious computer science competitions in the world and this is the first time Italy has hosted this important event. The Minister, Mr. Francesco Profumo, met all the contestants and had a photo taken with the Italian students working as volunteers in support of the organization of the IOI. He also delivered a welcoming address to the ISC and IC members, underlining the importance of this event, which brings together people coming from over 80 countries and aims at promoting informatics, developing a growing international community of exceptionally talented young people, and fostering Intercultural communication and friendship. The Minister concluded his address wishing all the participants the best of luck in the competition and hoping they will also enjoy their visits to Venice, Milan and Lake Garda.
