Light blue is the colour Italian athletes wear in all international contests. It recalls the colour of  sea and  clear sky representing the  typical image of Italy.

The human sketch enclosed in the acronym is inspired by the famous  Uomo Vitruviano by Leonardo da Vinci, the most representative example of Italian ingenuity in art and technology. Leonardo left many evidences of his work in Lombardy, where he resided for a period. In this drawing he points to  the perfect proportions and geometrical properties of the human figure, suggesting the ideal integration of nature and rationality  in the human being.
